Sales & Virus Policy – Bigfoot Dahlia Farm

General Sales Policy

At Bigfoot Dahlia Farm, we are committed to providing healthy, true-to-name dahlia tubers and rooted cuttings. By placing an order with us, you agree to the following terms:

  • All Sales Are Final: Due to the nature of live plants, we do not accept returns or offer refunds except under the conditions outlined below.
  • Shipping Timeline: Orders will ship according to your USDA growing zone and our harvest schedule. Shipping typically begins in early spring and continues through planting season.
  • Combined Shipping: If you purchase both tubers and rooted cuttings, these may ship separately based on readiness and weather conditions.
  • Order Cancellations: Orders may be canceled within 48 hours of purchase. After this time, all sales are final.
  • USA Orders Only: We currently do not ship outside of the United States.

Shipping Information

Tubers:

  • Shipped via USPS Priority Mail (1–3 days)
  • 1–2 tubers: $12.00
  • 3 or more tubers: $20.00

 

Rooted Cuttings

  • Shipped via UPS 2nd Day Air
  • Flat rate: $25.00
  • Heat Pack: +$5.00 (Recommended for early season or cold-climate shipping)

 

Shipping charges are calculated at checkout. Please note that once packages are handed off to the shipping carrier, we are not responsible for delays or damage caused in transit.

Virus & Plant Health Policy

We take plant health seriously and make every effort to minimize the risk of viruses and disease.

Our Standards:

  • All mother stock is grown with care in Olympia, WA and routinely monitored for signs of disease.
  • We inspect all tubers and rooted cuttings before shipping. Any plant showing visible signs of disease will not be shipped.
  • While we take rigorous precautions, viruses in dahlias are often latent and may not show symptoms at the time of shipping.

 

Important Notes for Customers:

  • No Guarantee Against Virus: We cannot guarantee that any plant is 100% virus-free. This is a risk inherent to dahlia cultivation across the industry.
  • Grower’s Responsibility: We strongly encourage growers to sanitize tools, isolate new arrivals, and regularly inspect plants throughout the season.
  • What We Will Replace: If your tuber arrives soft, rotten, or non-viable, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with clear photos. We will issue store credit or a replacement if inventory allows.

Rooted Cuttings Disclaimer

  • Rooted cuttings are more fragile than tubers and require careful handling. We cannot be responsible for damage caused by improper planting or environmental stress.
  • Please open your package immediately and provide proper care upon arrival.
